Fairtrade Wooden Toys and Organic Soft Toys

These Fairtrade wooden toys for babies and children are simply wonderful - ethically and sustainably made, well designed, truly unique and GENUINELY fairtrade.

These toys are made in just one village in India - Channapatna. The range is made by skilled toy artisans, both male and female. The wood used is from a sustainable source; only halewood or rubberwood is used. Halewood branches are used, so the tree is never cut down in its entirety, grows back over 3-4 years.

The colours used in the toys are from vegetable dyes, like turmeric and indigo. The toys are then polished with a palm leaf to bring up a lustrous shine.
