Using A Sling - Ring Slings

The basic design of a ring sling is a long piece of fabric looped through two heavy duty aluminium rings forming a seat or pouch for baby. It is worn over one shoulder and is fully adjustable, so can be fitted to suit the size of baby and wearer by adjusting each edge of the hanging tail.
The weight should be evenly distributed across your shoulder and back. Most ring slings are approximately 2 metres long and come with full instructions.
All the Ring Slings in store are made from woven wrap fabric - perfect when you want the support of a wrap with the simplicity of a ring sling.
Ring slings are great for carrying a newborn, and allow very discreet nursing on the go. The ring sling can also be used right up to toddler age (depending on the supportiveness of the fabric).
They can be especially useful with older babies and toddlers who are at the 'up and down' stage, as it is quick and easy to place baby in and out of the ring sling, and they fold up nice and small so can be carried with you in a bag.
Ring Slings are suitable from birth onwards. I would advise against using the cradle carry. Tummy-to-tummy positioning is advisable. For optimum support and comfort, re-thread and adjust the ring sling each time before popping baby in, pulling the rails horizontally to tighten.
